Welcome to Puerto Rico!
January 10 - 17, 2004
This trip was a bit more laid back than the first - we actually managed to hit the beach 2 times!  So much to do in Puerto Rico, it is impossible to fit it all in.  Highlight of this trip was the rain forest.  Instead of taking an organized tour, the four of us chipped in and rented a car.  Other than hitting rush hour traffic coming back into San Juan, it was much better than a tour as it gave us the opportunity to do several hours of hiking that probably would not have been possible on an organized tour.
We stayed at El Canario Inn, one of three El Cararios on the island.  Not the nicest hotel on Ashford Ave., but probably one of the cheapest.  It was clean, a GREAT location, and other than a clogged commode presented no issues.  The rooms are small, and it was a bit of a challenge getting extra towels, but I'd stay there again unless I found a bargain on one of the other hotels in the immediate area.
Something new - slide shows.  Please be patient on these as it downloads the entire slide show before it begins.  You may want to skip this and go directly to the pictures you want if you have a slow connection.
